Car accessories come in all shapes and sizes. And the best thing is, they can help make life in the car a little easier and a bit more comfortable. Or, sometimes, the car accessory is simply meant to add a little spice and personality to the car (see exhibit A. in photo above).
Well, earlier this year, we reached out to Poquet Facebook fans to find out directly from them – what is your favorite car accessory. Here’s what Poquet Fans had to say...
With cold Minnesota winters, especially this past 2013 - 2014 winter, it’s no surprise that heated seats ranked as the number one accessory. Also, it could have something to do with the fact that we launched the poll in March. And if you can remember, the greater Twin Cities area had quite a snowstorm in March – with a foot of snow in some parts of Minnesota.
This car accessory came as no surprise. After all, these days, many people rely on their navigation or GPS system to get them from point a to point b. It’s become a go-to travel device for navigating unknown territory, and it’s a handy tool for avoiding traffic and finding the quickest route even in well-known parts of the city.
When it comes down to exactly what type of GPS unit that’s preferred – built-in vs. portable stand-alone vs. smartphone – Poquet Fans have an opinion there too. In a previous poll of Poquet Facebook Fans, 61% of respondents preferred using GPS on a smartphone, while 20% preferred built-in units and 19% preferred portable, stand-alone GPS units.
Next favorite car accessory was the car horn. A quote from Poquet Fan Kevin Nagel sums this one up perfectly:
“Does the horn count? ...because I really enjoy using my car's horn.”
Gotta love the pedal. Right?
A sunroof is the perfect accessory for enjoying warm, sunny days! After all, Minnesotans know how to prepare for the cold, but we also know how to enjoy every last drop of warm weather!
When the snowy season kicks into full gear, some drivers find AWD to be a huge plus. In fact, Poquet FB Fans shared some pretty passionate responses last December when they were asked: Is AWD a must-have for Minnesota winters? The “yes” votes won, but there were also some pretty compelling “no” votes.
Looks like Poquet FB Fans know how to keep cozy and warm even in subzero temperatures. With this accessory, a cold steering wheel is a thing of the past – even during the coldest of winter mornings.
On long road trips and heavy-traffic commuting, nothing beats listening to a great play list on an excellent sound system.
There’s no better way to sum up the advantages of this car accessory than to simply quote Poquet Facebook Fan Matt Larson: “Speedometer, [I] don't want speeding tickets.”
There’s definitely a recurring theme in these top 10 accessories – tools and features that help Minnesotans enjoy the warmest and the coldest of days. And a remote starter certainly falls under that category!
