The Do’s and Don’ts of Test Driving [Infographic]

You’ve planned your trip to the dealership. You’re ready to check out the models, take advantage of great deals, and sign on the bottom line. But when it comes to the test drive, do you know what to look for?

There are a lot of things to consider when car shopping. The infographic below shows you what you should and shouldn’t do when you get behind the wheel for the first time. Here’s some good advice:

  • Take your time and don’t let the salesperson rush you. They’re on your timeline, not the other way around.
  • Bring along anyone else involved in the decision-making process so they can help you shop.
  • Check all the gears. Don’t just stay in the lowest gear -- put the car through its paces.
  • Make sure all the basics work -- like the windows, the seat belts, the radio, the wipers, etc.

If the car is in poor quality or the salesperson seems to “salesy,” you should probably shop somewhere else. Your dealership should help guide you to the car that’s best for you, not the one that’s best for them to sell.

Here’s the infographic from Faraday West Finance:
