The oil crisis in 1976 was a very unpleasant time in America’s history. However, it proved to be the springboard for the the gas-efficient, Japanese-owned, American-produced Honda Accord.
Since the first Accord rolled off of the assembly line in Marysville, Ohio, more than 12 million Honda Accords have been made in America, some even being exported to Japan. Then, in 1989, the Honda Accord became the best selling passenger car in America!
