The nostalgia car carrier is back again and it is pumping Jerry Reed’s ‘Eastbound and Down!’

39 years since the release of Smokey and the Bandit, Trans Am Depot is coming out with the 2016 Bandit Trans Am, a remake of the 1977 Pontiac Trans Am that starred alongside Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed, Sally Field, and trusty-old Fred the Bassett Hound.

Equipped with it’s signature hood logo, T-tops, and snowflake wheels (pictured below), the new Trans Am brings back a few iconic features, as well as a few new ones. A couple of the new features, including:

  • Door panels that, when put together, make a complete image of the Trans Am logo.
  • A unique logo for the new Bandit logo which is tastefully littered throughout the car.
  • Seat designs based on the 1978 Trans Am, for added comfort.
  • The handwritten signature of the Bandit himself, Burt Reynolds.
  • 655 MORE HORSEPOWER than the original, jumping from 185 HP to 840 HP. Burt said that with that new found power, the car is like “an airplane on the ground.”

Sadly, this special release will not be a large one. Due to the significance of the number to the movie and the car, only 77 Bandit Trans Ams will be made this year, as a nod of sorts, because:

  • Smokey and the Bandit was released in 1977.
  • The year of the Trans Am they used in the movie was a ‘77.
  • 1977 was the first time the Trans Am sported the snowflake wheel design.

Without further adieu, feast your eyes on the 2016 Bandit Trans Am!!
